Our HeritageMeerkat Design BV has worked for many European blue-chip companies since 1989, and are highly-skilled in the mechanical design of high-tech and high-part count designs, using both SolidWorks and Pro/ENGINEER CAD software.
Meerkat Design gained experienced with high-volume optics and high-precision engineering in the early 1990s, and this led the company into the design of commercial digital printing presses. In 2002 Meerkat Design worked for Carl Zeiss SMT on their very successful state-of-the-art EUV project, and this experience led into the design and realisation of optical space payloads. In 2016, we delivered our first designed and manufactured camera which developed for an ultra-high altitude drone. Alongside our space and camera projects, through our high-volume design experience, we realise progressively more and more high-tech products, nearly all of which we now supply parts for through Meerkat China. We now operate in space, defence, automotive, telcomms and consumer markets. |
From 1 to 100,000x!We do think that we are a unique organisation.
On one hand we design and develop space products where manufacturing costs are prohibitive and three parts can cost €300,000, whilst on the other hand we design 30,000x parts parts that cost $4.00 each. We are experts at both ends of the spectrum and offer our customers excellent solutions. |
Don't be Scared!Knowing that we work on space payload development, can sometimes be intimidating, and lead you to worry that we are the wrong partner to develop your products.
It is our belief that every product is designed using the same toolbox, and the project itself justifies which tools you take out of the toolbox. It can well be that you do not need the formality of our design and reporting methodologies, or you do not need your structures analysed. This is perfectly okay. What you do benefit from is skilled engineers who can bring knowledge to support at unexpected times. It is often said, "the thing that caught you is the thing you never thought about!". We keep an eye out for such eventualities even though we are perhaps tasked with a narrower set of requirements. We also tell our customers that it is actually our expectation that they descope some of our offerings. |
