Meerkat Design BV has been realising high-tech, high-part count products for European blue-chip clients since 1989. Since 2002, we have worked predominantly on clean-sheet designs.
We have considerable exposure in military, optics, telecoms, automotive, and consumer markets. Through our intimate contribution towards an ever increasing number of ESA space projects, we are conversant with the best formalised design methodologies. The fundamentals to these methodologies apply to the development of any product, and we pragmatically apply them to our customers’ projects. Meerkat Design is very experienced at developing complex products from a set of requirements, and delivering a fully-engineered product. Within our toolbox, we can provide every skill required to successfully realise your product, including for example, project management, material and surface-treatment selection, full realisation in CAD, industrial design, best-in-class manufacturing deliverables, cost-budgets, design-to-cost, structural and thermal analyses, part manufacturing, assembly, testing and test-campaigns, graphic design, renderings and animations. We have a large team of experienced engineers, and we compose our design team to suite your individual projects, with the intention to pass through the project in a controlled and structured manner so that your budget is spent optimally and things only need doing once. |
Space Payload Development
Meerkat Design have now participated in two flying optical instruments (Proba-V and NOMAD), and are involved in the development of three more (PILOT, Proba3 and ALTIUS). According, we have worked on projects for earth observation, orbiting Mars, landing on the moon, and looking daily at the sun. The opportunity to work in the space-market resulted in a successful contribution on the state-of-the-art EUV project with Carl Zeiss GmbH in Oberkochen, Germany. Supporting our space clients, we work within a multi-national design team to realise the flying payload, and are heavily involved in all mechanical, structural, thermal, thermo-elastic, opto-mechanical, andd electro-mechanical aspects. We are involved with the first iterations of structural, thermal and thermo-elastic analyses using SolidWorks Simulation. Predominantly every design starts on a clean-sheet. We provide conceptual input, and realise the design from a virtual to a physical product, and support manufacturing, build and test campaigns. All these projects follow strict design methodologies and work-flows. Undoubtedly, these projects are extremely complex and expose Meerkat Design to the highest-levels of engineering excellence. Whilst we do not pursue the development of complex modules, we offer consultancy and services to support the design, realisation and manufacturing of the most complex parts and assemblies in any material. |

Rendering and Animation
Meerkat Design have been adding value to client’s CAD data since 2005 by making high-quality renderings.
The quality of our renderings is outstanding, but this does not mean that we spend many hours converting or changing CAD data. The highest-quality rendering of assemblies normally takes in the region of between two and four hours, and the results are genuine photo-quality images.
We also offer complex animations up to the same quality resolution as our renderings.
We can also place your virtual products in real-life environments.
